The Tribe
Those who breathe differently
They dive, they explore, they live between breaths. Our ambassadors are first and foremost genuine enthusiasts who carry the Salty Breath Society spirit wherever the water takes them.
To get to know them better, we asked them the following questions:
1. Why freediving? What do you get out of it?
2. What's your favorite spot?
3. Our slogan "Trust the Flow. Slow Dive. Good Vibes." How does that resonate with you?
4. Your best memory underwater?

1. I've been passionate about freediving for 4 years now. I really love taking the time to relax and meditate before getting into the water. Then, underwater, everything is different. It's truly my favorite place: you feel like you're completely disconnecting, not thinking about anything, and pushing your limits.
2. My favorite spot is Coin de Mire in Mauritius. It's about twenty meters deep, and we encounter some really beautiful creatures while freediving, like enormous rays, large moray eels, etc.
3. That's such a great slogan! It really evokes what your brand projects, as well as the values and "vibes" that I share with you, haha!
4. As we were heading to a freediving spot to explore a shipwreck, we came face to face with some super playful dolphins in Mauritius. It was truly amazing!

1. I love freediving because it's a moment of calm. My job is inherently noisy, so being able to immerse myself is very soothing. Plus, I find it a way to connect with nature and then share what I'm lucky enough to observe.
2. I think my favorite spot is Polynesia. I've been lucky enough to travel the world, and I must admit that the Philippines are also a real gem.
3. I'd say that could be my mantra for freediving. It's exactly the kind of vibe I like to share with the people I meet underwater.
4. I have so many beautiful memories, so choosing is difficult! I'd say it ranges from a chance encounter with sperm whales in Mauritius during COVID (where I was living at the time) to a moment of interaction with an octopus just a few days ago in the Mediterranean. But there are also the whales in Polynesia, the moray eels in Mauritius... In short, I have too many beautiful memories to choose from, sorry! Even the infinite blue in the middle of the Indian Ocean or the Mediterranean never leaves me indifferent.

1. Why freediving? Honestly, it's the only place where everything truly pauses. As soon as I descend, my mind goes quiet, and I find myself just listening to my body. There aren't many moments like that on Earth.
2. My favorite spot, without hesitation: Barracuda Lake in the Philippines. It's a unique place in the world with its inverted thermocline: you descend, and instead of getting colder, the water suddenly gets warmer. The first time, it's completely disorienting, and the scenery is just surreal. I've never found anything like it anywhere else.
3. Your slogan "Trust the Flow. Slow Dive. Good Vibes." really resonates with me, especially "Slow Dive." We always think we have to push hard to go far, when it's actually the opposite. The more you slow down and let go, the deeper you go.
4. And my best memory underwater is my first encounter with a whale shark, on one of my first dives in the Philippines. That massive creature emerging from the blue and brushing past you without any aggression... it puts things into perspective. I'll never forget that moment.

1. I've always loved being in the water, and even more so underwater. I started with scuba diving and, very quickly, I was drawn to the athletic side of freediving. The fluidity of movement, the aquatic displacement, the technical work, and the approach that is both relaxed and focused make for a fascinating combination.
2. My favorite spot: Corsica! I've been going there forever, practicing natural freediving even before I knew it was "a sport." It's a bit like my backyard.
3. This slogan really resonates with me. My approach is based on gentleness and trust towards the aquatic element, towards my freediving buddy, and towards myself.
4. My best memory underwater: I have 1001 best memories!
Sometimes there are incredible dives where I cover long distances without encountering any unpleasant sensations, for example, my 205m in monofin at the AIDA World Championships last week.
At sea, I would mention a session in Corsica. There was a huge black rock, perhaps 12 or 15m high, stranded alone on a white sand bottom, completely submerged, its top perhaps 5-7m deep. All around, the infinite blue of the sea in which dozens and dozens of jellyfish shimmered. It was hypnotic. Descending a little, circling this rock, ascending... what more could you ask for!

1. I love the water more than anything. I first started diving when I was a child—my parents couldn't get me out of the water. Then I discovered freediving about twelve years ago. I appreciate the spirit of sport and self-improvement.
2. My favorite spot: one of my first freediving trips in the sea, in Guadeloupe, on the wreck of the Franjack, accompanied by turtles.
3. That really resonates with me. I never have a plan in mind. I let myself be carried by what life, in general, brings me, and freediving in particular. I never would have imagined one day experiencing all these incredible things thanks to freediving.
4. My best memory: my very first French championship, after only one year of competition. What a source of pride!

1. Freediving is my refuge and my space of truth. Underwater, everything slows down. I find myself in total presence, far from the hustle and bustle of the terrestrial world, which often moves too fast for me. It's a moment for myself, a return to the body, to calm, to the essential.
I find pleasure in diving with my friends, well-being in the simple act of slowing down, and moments of wonder when underwater life reveals itself. And then freediving is also an inner journey: you continue to learn about yourself, to discover yourself, to explore yourself. Every immersion is an encounter with the water, with the world, with oneself.
2. I can't choose just one... because for me, the best spot is the water itself.
In lakes, I deeply love Boudry and Chillon. In rivers, the Maggia and Areuse give me that feeling of raw freedom. In the sea, the calanques, Bali, Egypt, Polynesia... each place has its magic, its light, its energy.
I am a blue explorer: as long as there's water, I'm home.
3. This slogan is exactly what I want to experience and transmit.
"Trust the Flow" is that confidence that sets in when you let go of your mind and let the water guide you. "Slow Dive" is the art of slowing down, savoring the present moment, descending gently. "Good Vibes" is what circulates when you are aligned: simple, beautiful, contagious energies that spread around you.
It's a philosophy of life as much as a way of diving.
4. I have several, and each carries a different emotion.
Discovering aquatic caves in the calanques, like an explorer. Swimming with dolphins. Encountering a reef shark while observing a turtle. And one of the most precious: freediving in the rain in Moorea, with my daughter and the rays. A suspended, gentle, almost unreal moment.
Water has this power: it transforms moments into memories that remain etched.

1. When I immerse myself, I feel a real connection with the sea. Freediving allows you to feel all the power and grandeur of the ocean. It also allows me to reconnect with myself, forgetting for a moment the outside noise and superfluous thoughts. I feel like I'm in space, alone in the immensity.
2. My favorite spot is Siquijor Island in the Philippines. That's where I discovered freediving, and I've been back several times since.
3. Your slogan resonates with me as self-evident. I embody the values of gentle, controlled freediving, where you progress little by little without forcing. The most important thing is to know how to listen to yourself.
4. My best memory underwater remains my dive with whales. It was an ethereal moment where you feel tiny in the face of the beauty, calm, and serenity of this animal. And when you meet the gaze of a whale, you can feel all the wisdom it exudes. This moment will forever be etched in my memory.

1. For me, freediving is like returning to childhood, like being cradled in a mother's womb. I find absolute calm there, which is particularly reassuring. It has taught me to be more in tune with my body and my surroundings, to appreciate life even more, as incredible as it can be, and to be grateful to be just a grain of sand in the immensity of the ocean.
2. My favorite spot remains a place I'd like to keep secret, in the middle of the desert, in Western Australia. There, I was amazed by all the marine creatures I encountered during my freedives!
3. Your slogan "Trust the Flow. Slow Dive. Good Vibes." is a wonderful summary of the ideal mindset with which we should all approach freediving, with great humility!
4. Oh my, my best memory in the water... I have so many! One of the most beautiful remains my encounter with my first tiger shark in Australian waters, or the first time I was able to see the arch of the Blue Hole in Egypt!
